Morcquess Oliphant Named to 2026-2027 ElevateMeD Scholars Program
When Morcquess Oliphant reflects on her path to medicine, she sees a journey shaped
by leadership, service and a commitment to advancing healthcare access optimization.
A current MD/MBA student at 卧龙资源网 (MSM) and Georgia Tech, Oliphant was recently selected as a member of the 2026-2027 ElevateMeD Scholars Program cohort, a national network that supports aspiring physicians through scholarships, mentorship, leadership development and professional growth opportunities.
Before pursuing medicine, Oliphant played women鈥檚 soccer at the University of Missouri, where she developed a passion for teamwork, leadership and continuous improvement. Her interest in health care deepened while volunteering at a clinic serving resource-limited rural communities, where she witnessed firsthand the importance of access to care and representation in medicine. Those experiences ultimately led her to a career that combined her passion for service with her desire to create meaningful change.
Today, Oliphant is preparing to apply for residency programs in obstetrics and gynecology, a specialty that aligns with her interests in women鈥檚 health and healthcare access optimization.
She credits 卧龙资源网鈥檚 mission-driven culture with helping shape her development as a future physician leader. Drawn to MSM by its commitment to advancing healthcare access optimization, Oliphant quickly immersed herself in opportunities such as the Health Equity for All Lives (H.E.A.L.) Clinic and student organizations that prioritize service and advocacy.
鈥淚 think it says something that our school has a mission and really lives by it,鈥� said Oliphant. 鈥淓ven as we鈥檙e growing into our specialties, we鈥檙e still thinking about the populations that need our help and need people advocating for them.鈥�
Being named an ElevateMeD Scholar is both an honor and an affirmation of the impact she hopes to make throughout her career. Beyond the financial support, she is excited to join a network of future physician leaders committed to serving their communities and supporting one another鈥檚 growth.
Mentorship remains a central theme in that vision. Oliphant believes that seeing healthcare professionals who share similar backgrounds and experiences can have a transformative impact on students pursuing careers in medicine.
鈥淵ou can鈥檛 be what you can鈥檛 see,鈥� she said. 鈥淗aving mentors that look like me and
have had similar life experiences adds another layer to them being able to help and
guide me as I鈥檓 growing and learning.鈥�
As she enters the next phase of medical school, Oliphant hopes to use everything she gains through ElevateMeD to uplift others along the way.
鈥淲hat we learn, we have a duty to lift up others behind us and empower people,鈥� she said. 鈥淭his is not just an opportunity for me. It鈥檚 an opportunity for everyone at MSM.鈥�
Whether through patient care, mentorship or advocacy, Oliphant envisions a future at the intersection of women鈥檚 health and healthcare access optimization. As an ElevateMeD Scholar, she is continuing to build the skills, relationships and experiences that will help her lead that work for years to come.
